Yes, extravaganza, as in a lavish or spectacular show or event.
Labor day weekend I was in Elsie Michigan. We had a small town old time looking at the cow,
wondering how much milk fits in the water tower,
and getting our cooters slapped (wtf?).
There was no cell phone coverage but I did see an old timey pay telephone for in case of an emergency.
Luckily (for everyone) I didn’t have to fight this pizza monster (Foo-G’s Pizza was good)
and there was nothing too crazy lingering in Elsie’s nostril.
And while I was in Elsie I realized that the great thing about having a giant cow in town is that it means you have a giant cow ass in town by default.

Just head down Michigan Avenue and, if you’re going in the right direction, you’ll end up in Corktown, Detroit. There are all sorts of things happening in Corktown.
You can watch a beautiful sunrise,
hang out in front of this painting of RoboCop and his buddy,
Here is some user generated content from K.B. He took some cool photos of the Mackinac Bridge on his way up to (possibly through) Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The city of Detroit is tearing down Tiger Stadium. I think the last time I saw a game here was in 1984. I remember not so much the game but the birds that were in the rafters above us pooping on everyone and the big cement pillar that blocked our view of the field.
Once upon a time there was a man named Henry Ford. He invented a process to mass produce a horseless carriage that runs on dead dinosaurs and other rotting organic stuff*. He got so wealthy from this new process (the assembly line) that he was able to go around and buy up a lot of American history. Most of these items are in The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. For a hefty price you too can now see American History aggregated in Dearborn Michigan.
Check out this old steam engine and dynamo.
And here is the chair that Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in ( no joke).Click here to see my photos from The Henry Ford Museum.
*I’m making this s%&t up. I don’t know where oil comes from.
This place is great. If you haven’t seen it you should go check it out.
The story is that a guy named Tyree Guyton started decorating these houses in 1986. He saw his neighborhood was in poor condition so he turned it into a public art project.I’ll be returning this year to shoot some more video and take some more photos. If you’re in the neighborhood you should go see it for sure. Preview the Heidelberg Project by visiting my photo album here.
This past weekend was Memorial Day 2008. I made enough time to go to the Detroit Science Center and then see the Tigers beat the hell out of the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park (19 to 3, Tigers).
The weather was perfect. Click here to see all of my pictures from that day.
Lilly white Milford Michigan. Voted best place to get run over by an SUV.
If you do make it through the day and decide to check out a local dance club, just be sure not to use too many big words or dress up too fancy. Some of the locals might think that you’re calling them stupid or trying to pick up their girl.
I used to live here. I liked it for a while. Click on the photos to see a little bit more of Milford Michigan.
This is a really neat looking place. The hills are covered in grape vines. They make a lot of wine I guess.
It snowed the day I left.
It was good though because the garbage men were on strike and the snow covered up all of the mess. Click on the photos to see all of my blurry pictures from Stuttgart.
